Hello everyone. I just downloaded the demo for Corel Painter X on my intel Mac and started giving it spin for the very first time. I'm trying out the script function, but I'm running into difficulties. I want to open a photo (jpg) and perform auto-painting steps to give it a oil painting look, and apply the same steps to 15 other photos. I followed the tutorial under Help>Tutorials which opens up my web browser and I choose the "Painting photos in Corel Painter X by John Derry." This gave me the quick info on creating the effect I want, although the tutorial does it in chalk pastels.
I followed the script instructions found in the Help Menu. I created a script, and when I try to run it for another image (same resolution), it doesn't do what I expect. Here is an outline of my steps:
- I open Image A (jpg)
- I then click the menu arrow options in the scripts palette to double check the options
- I leave the default options
- a) Every "10" 1/10ths of a second |x| Record Initial State (checked)
- b) | | Save Frames on Playback (not checked)
- I Click the record button
- In the Underpainting Palette, I select the Classical Color Scheme
- I click the Apply Button within the Underpainting Palette
- I click Quick Clone
- New Cloned Image appears
- I toggle the Tracing Paper off (as mentioned in tutorial)
- In Auto-Painting Palette, I click 'Smart Stroke Painting' and 'Smart Settings'
- In Brush Selector I choose an Oils Painting Brush
- I click the Clone Color button to make sure my original color is cloned (from tutorial)
- I hit the Play button in the Auto-Painting Palette
- A painting is generated on the cloned canvas from my original photo
- I click the Stop button to stop recording my script.
- I name the script "Oil_Paint_test"
- I then save out the Oil Painted Generated Image.
- I then close out my original image without saving since it has the classical color scheme applied, which I don't want to save on it.
- I Open Image B (jpg) same resolution
- I select the Oil_Paint_test script
- I hit play
- A cloned image of Image B pops up, but nothing else happens
I don't know why it stops
I Open up the Oil_Paint_Script and see steps
I even tried the select all prior to recording as might one do if applying the script to another image with proptionally larger dimensions. If anyone can just point out what I may be doing wrong, I greatly appreciate it.
