View Full Version : HCM Challenge 11: Draco clan (vampire lord) vs Frankenstein
morphius-ms 10-12-2007, 06:13 PM greetings everyone...
I've decided to do this challenge... I was originally intending to do only one creature but I decided to do two. When I asked these two artists for orthos and details, I was assuming one wouldn't have the time... What I didn't count on was that both of them would be giving me orthos and details... So when deciding which one to do I decided to really challenge myself and do both in a Multiple Creature Diorama. It's gonna be tough but I hope I will be able to make it.
Here are the two creatures...
First the vampire lord from Marlon Kromodikoro his rendition was just too cool to pass up.

Second is the frankenstein concept from Evren Bilgihan this one I couldn't pass up either I think both of them are cool...

They both said that the concept art would be done probably by the end of the week... Marlon said that he would post it in the concept art thread... this is what I'm waiting on.
This is gonna be a fun challenge... I hope I do well and am able to finish (and not just finish with the model)...
Later...

That's a really clever idea! It's very ambitious. Can't wait to see it. Any idea what the background will be?

thanks for your interest...
I've been thinking about making it happen in a part of a castle... other than that i'm not sure...
I've been thinking of either an outer hall (kinda like into one of the gardens) or the roof of the castle...

Greetings again everyone...
I just got the other orthos today and will be posting a progress for the vampire lord model... I haven't started modeling yet I've been trying to work out what the fighting scene is going to be like... the environment and the like.
Here are the orthos... I will be working on the vampire lord first and then working on frank...

Also I was wondering what you guys thought about this idea I just had for them... they are fighting in the air (since the vampire lord has wings) Frank had just leaped and stabbed the vampire lord in the chest with a spear (or spear like wooden stake) and the vampire lord then breaks it pulling the piece out... leaving frank falling backward... and that is where the scene is going to be shot...
Either that or the fight in the castle or on the roof (since again the vampire lord can fly)...
Tell me what you think...

I think figting in the air would look great. It'll create a really nice dynamic pose. But I think you should have the vampire with one hand around Frank's neck and the other pulling out the stake. Just a suggestion. I'm sure it'll look good either way. Good luck!

Good idea! I never thought about that... lol... anyway here is some progress I've been working on...
about an hour for the body (well more because I restarted it but it wasn't turning out right so I went back to my original and it works better...) but the basic shape only took an hour) and an hour for the foot/leg... let me know what you think... I will post some more later (not today)... probably friday... because I have something I need to do tomorrow (going outof town).
anyway here's the stills...

well a few things have come up so I won't be able to finish this challenge, unfortunately I wish I could have but I can't. I might be able to finish the model for the vampire (just the model) but not frankenstein in time. I will try to have the vampire finished by then.
I will work on doing frankenstein in my own time because I did say that I would do it.
I'll talk to you all later.
