im wondering if someone can replicate this bug:

create a lit sphere, and control the intensity via set driven key. render in mental ray via local batch. whatever the first intensity value is sticks. i rendered the same file in muster, and it sorta worked. the light intensity dropped, but the specular hilight was still incorrect. any frame rendered in maya (not batch) looked correct.

then.. i simply broke the connections on the set driven key, and manually keyed the light. then, i get what id expect both locally and on the farm. i enclosed my test file.

edit: maya 8.5x64 sp2 on xp pro

I've got the same problem. Been looking for an answer, havent found any yet. Did you have any luck with that?

the workaround i found was to rerig the lights with an expression to get it to work.

Oh Cool! I actually found something else when I was going through the forums. Someone mentioned that you can just bake the animation down from the set driven keys to keyframe animated. All you have to do is go edit-->keys-->bake simulation. pretty neat!
