View Full Version : Lgihting and rendering techniques
wezza 04-09-2003, 05:32 AM Does anyone know if there are any net based courses focusing primarily on lighting and rendering techniques in maya?
Currently I am a traditional colourstylist aiming at diving into the CG realm.

Jeremy Birn's book: Digital Lighting and Rendering
http://3drender.com/light/index.html
It's really more concepts of lighting/rendering in cgi rather than being software specific so you can use the techniques in most software packages. He posts on cgtalk, so maybe he will add to this. His web site also has many nice tutorials. Again concepts that work in almost any package(the best kind of tuts).
For maya specific stuff, Gnomon has two rendering dvds by Jeremy Engleman:

Jeremy Engleman is a really good lighter(has a really nice fine art style to his work): http://www.art.net/~jeremy/
