I have created a test file that contains a subD object by doing a "save as".... After testing I cleaned up the file by deleting a bunch of unrelated stuff (locators, poly objs, etc....) no big deal.

Now I want to import this file back into my original file (where the subD still exists.... and so I would have two subDs in my scene), but when I import I am getting MASSIVE name clashing. And it appears to be underworld nodes?? I have tried deleting history on the file that I am bringing in but still get TONS of name clashing.

// Warning: The node 'B_begin_06_poly_parts8_lid_loft_PIVimport_animationScriptNode2' still clashed with a node in the main scene. Renaming to 'B_begin_06_poly_parts8_lid_loft_PIVimport_animationScriptNode6'. //
// Warning: The node 'B_begin_06_poly_parts8_mouth_PIVimport_animationScriptNode2' still clashed with a node in the main scene. Renaming to 'B_begin_06_poly_parts8_mouth_PIVimport_animationScriptNode6'. //

Can someone shed some light on what this name clashing is centered around?
And also if there is needs at some point in time, to ever clean up the underworld?

After going through some scene cleans one by one, it looks like the nodes are all related to a "animationScriptNode".

All I can remember is that I was using the Import "Rib" feature in the OSX 3.5 Maya version (which is no longer in the 4.5 version).

And I was also using a BVH importer around that time as well.

Anyone have any ideas?...... How do you clean up unused nodes that were custom created?

File>Optimize scene file and under hypershade Edit> Delete unused nodes. Only time i had clashing is when duplicating geometry but looks like something else in your situation.
