I can get decent renders of normal maps with hardware or Maya software.

Has 2008 optimized Normal Map rendering in MR?

the results I am getting with default bumpnode (tangent space) setup are still very poor without JS_normalmapper.

The problem with Js_Normalmapper is that introduces photon like artifacts when rendering with Final Gathering.

hmmmm....it seems attaching the bump node of the normal to a mia_roundcorners does a pretty good job
