Title: Eternal Flame
Name: Enrique Parietti
Country: España
Software: mental ray, Photoshop, XSI

Hi all
This is my last render made with Softimage XSI 5.11.
I have not used any sculpt tool for modelling the sculpture (like Zbrush or similar), only traditinal poligon modelling.
Textures were done in Photoshop and the UV’s in UVLayoud.
For the ilumination i was used FG and GI with one spot for the sun light.
The final image has been composed by one Diffuse_pass, Reflection_pass, AO_pass, Volumic_Pass and a extra pass for the leaves above of the image.

very nice image i only find 1 major problem in your model and that is the size of the hand.
the size should be from the tip of your index finger to the start of the palm/wrist roughly the same length as the distance from the chin to somewhat higher than the eyebrow. yours seem to be almost as long as the head. maybe it's the angle. actually it might be because your thumb also ends too far back the end of the thumb should reach the knuckle of the inder finger and the start of the thumb from the middle of the upper palm. i think yours start much closer to the wrist and that's why it makes the fingers/hand look too long.

Wow..how mani replies!..thank you very much!!!
I hope to continue increasing my level, thanks for your support!

About the illumination I can say that I have used XSI Final Gathering and Global Ilumination with one area light for the sun light. Also I put a pair of secondary lights to only emit photons to help in it bounces of the GI.

Thank you.

I really like this piece...especially the clothing part. Wrinkles flow is so natual and the underneath flesh and muscles shows under the clothing, the technique is superb as the modeling descibe that what she wear is silk, smooth and transcluent.

Wow!! Beautiful work!

The cloth looks so real. The weight, the folds.... great work! To top it all you say its traditional modeling. Keep it up man!

Cheers,
Manoj

I like this rendering a lot.. incredible modeling job.. :) I like the volume light and the forground leaves also.. :)

Again.. I don't think anything really needs to be done to this image at all.. but if I HAD to give it any CC I would only mention a couple of things:

1) The rendering is a little too "clean".. if you dirty up the materials a little.. it might only make the image zing that much more. Although this may be contrary to what you wanted it to be.

2) The vines growing up the wall look great... but the texture maybe just looks a little too plastic... but just a little. :) And if I look hard enough.. I can kind of see what looks like a repeat pattern of the leaves being copied in the same orientation over and over again.. needs maybe a little more variation.

Again.. that's really minor issues though... great rendering... I would be interested to see what she looks like as a person and not a statue..

MRH..
