1. apply an unconstrained 4 pixel horisontal blur to the footage
2. apply a compound HSV operator after the blur
3. connect the V channel of the HSV operator to the unblurred footages value channel
this will improve DV keying 100%, trust me...

Chris, I've just tried your technique on some blue screen stuff and it works a treat I've been trying to work out how to do that for ages in combustion.
I did however notice that I also had to bump the vertical blur up to around 2 pixels to get a smoother matte. Have you had the same problem?
Thanks

I use differing blurs depending on the footage I have. I was keying some guy with blond super curly hair (aargh!!) & a 2px horisontal blur worked best. however I've used some vertical blur to get better results too when there is not too much fine detail...
