that second image rocks bud...i love that pastel colour n velvet feel look you got going on. how'd ya do it (chanlum?)...or more simple...either way really like it...suits the model also.
:buttrock:
Ooooh very nice
Love the depth of paint,it makes it look really deeply layered with clear coats :applause:
Stu.
updated the image...i finaly learned what my server limits are so i dont think i will be posting every picture of the progress
any little hints on how you made the paint?
thats the deepest paint I have ever seen.

Sweet dude simple sweet.
something funny about the grill though.
LOVE IT.
nuther update....no more for a while...gotta go work :D
hate to bug you chi, but is this the basicly still the same shader you were using before?
just wondering.
anyway looks great I love that exaust thingy.
umm yeah its the same shader just tweaked a few settings...
anyways for those who dont know....which is a lot...
the shader is as follows....
COLOR
for the color i set a fresnel with the color on the left darker than the color on the right...pretty simple
REFLECTION
once again a fresnel set to 54% on normal....the fresnel has a color that is close to the COLOR channel on the left and white on the right
set brightness to 15%
BUMP
in the bump field i set a 3d noise
wavy turbulence scaled to 1500%
SPECULAR
metal
width 89%
height 198%
and thats it thats the basic shader
to get the nice long white reflections i set up some grids that float above my scene with a texture that is set with 100%white luminance

Very nice
Cheers for the recipe as well Chi :)
I agree about the grill, think it just needs a curve outwards to maintain the nice flowing lines it has :)
Stu.
man i gotta learn how to focus
anyways here is the latest character i be working on
http://cgi.third-era.com/~chi/lampunkey1.jpg
weird just plain weird. i can't decide if I like it or not. the belly and the legs just make me go ugghhh.
great modeling and all but its just strange, like something escaped from a tim burton movie.

nothing to do with cinema
I think Chi was testing because of some technical difficulties he had in setting up his new Pic of the Day on his website.
