Title: Khanqah Family Mausoleum
Name: Michael Hewitt
Country: USA
Software: Photoshop, VRay
Here is a closeup of the Khanqah Family Mausoleum that I had found on the net. Its the family tomb of an Egyptian Shah. I used 3d Studio Max and Vray to model and render. Lighting done by way of the Vray Sun. Dusty air and window highlights made in Photoshop.

Thanks Guitarmunkie, yeah its a long time coming. I was trying to make a little bit more on the lit side to be able to show more of the details. When I do actually make it darker it does make the outside lighting coming in pop out more and gives a little more a mood. It could work either way. Thank you for your advice and opinions on this project, it made it that much better.
You can check out my other work in progress in my portfolio on here.

Hi Michael.
I believe that your model has a great potential,Concidering that its an islamic design which has some certain architectural elements & proportions.you did it very well.
You need alot of details & you should repaint some of the textures, they dont have a good resolution in my opinion.choice of material is very very good.but you should consider scales & unwrapp the textures.
The masoleum should not be too bright as long as its a spiritual place.
The blue tiling(Arabic font(called katibeh)) wrapped around the building is upside down!:D
I am sure its a very time consuming project. But it can be so pretty.

Thanks for the crit Maryam, I thought it would be great subject matter to work on. Maybe I should of got some islamic insight on it like your own. I really respect subject matter and opinions on it.
Sorry, I'll definitely have to flip that font the right way. With the textures for the walls they did get kind of muttled. I was really trying to keep the brick texture. That is something I could possibly easily fix.
I'll try to go back and see if I can adjust some things.
