edit post -

Still have an issue wit the Ati 2600xt> it has all the options for extended OGL grayed out in c4d. This is really strange as it tells me under preferences that the card has all the necessary capacities for extended OGL.
What gives?

Would the RadeonX2900 xt or the X2900 pro support this?

Would it be bettwe to go with the X2900xt or Nvidia 7950Gx2, or Nvidia 8800gts?
I am thinking that I will go with something a higher up the scale.

thanks for any advice,

Srek

These options are disabled to prevent a crash due to faulty ATI drivers. Once ATI fixes the drivers a small update to CINEMA 4D will fix this. If we were to enable the options now you would get an instant crash on using them.

thanks for the info.
The viewport was freezing when trying to select objects in large scenes.
I have uploaded a patch for the latest Catalyst which fixes this (or makes it better at least).

If they checked their mail to development support within the last year then yes :)

Sadly ATI is not nearly as easy to get in contact and work with as Nvidia, so we couldn't do much more than reporting the problem.
