View Full Version : AO without separate render pass/layer?

I have a very basic FG scene in which I'm trying to render AO directly in the final render, ie without using the render presets. Normally I would add the scene to the AO preset, tweak the values and render the pass separately. Now I'm trying to add AO directly to the materials but without much luck.

I've connected a mib_amb_occlusion node to the material's Ambient Color but nothing happens. I must be doing something wrong but what?

You can connect a rgb luminance to the difffuse attribute and then a mib_amb_occlusion to that.

Or use the render layer preset for occlusion, check that "render all layers" is active and set the layer blending mode to "multiply" and youre all set.

Thanks guys, both suggestions worked perfectly but T-R's suggestion is probably what I will go with!
