I'm working on a model in Maya 4.5 using SubD's, having converted a polygon model to subD for this purpose. I turned on Polygon Proxy Mode and sent to work and I've been drawing edges on it primarily to add sharper details, and it worked fine for a while, but all of a sudden, no matter what I did to the model, it wouldn't respond. I'd grab huge clumps of vertices and drag them out away from the model that should have deformed it horribly, but the model isn't responding at all. The vertices move and the polygon proxy outline looks sufficiently warped, but the subD model itself remains unchanged.
What's going on here? Did I bork something up?
I checked the attribute editor and made sure that the polygon proxy mesh's max polycount was maxed out at 100,000 or whatever it was.
I'm using Maya 4.5 on Windows 2000 on an AMD Athlon XP2100+ 1.73ghz clocked down to 1.3ghz (summer weather, no AC, 85+ degrees inside, overheats CPU despite all fans), 512mb SDRAM, etc...
Can anyone help me? This is for something for work that I really need to be busting ass on. :\
Thanks in advance.
