View Full Version : Newbie questions
Saurus 04-08-2003, 08:49 PM Im a Maya guy, but using Max at work and I have a few questions:
Is there a way of deleting vertex and/or edge without creating a hole and messing up the UV?
Is there a selection zoom similar to Maya?
Thanks,
Saurus

Try the backspace key.
(What version of Max are you using?)

I'm not too familiar with Maya (they even still make that?) but for max you can simply select the object (by name if scene is busy with stuff) and use the Zoom Selection tool in lower right corner of gui. A fence around a white box icon. I'm not in front of max atm but I think that's it.

yeah, the backspace key gets my vote too. sure theres a button in the verticies modifiers panel that removes with out making holes too. same thing as backspace tho, i think.

this is for max 5:
you have to convert the mesh to editable poly (right click on the selected object, it is in the lower part of the quad menu)
then select the vertex or edge,
then click the "remove" button.
do not "delete". "Remove" instead
You won´t have that "remove" option under edit mesh.
Hope that helped
