I'm new to maya. When I setup a simple Ik arm ,after setting a prefered angle , some subtle rotation values appear in channelbox of the limb joints.I notice that when the scale is low ,it happens quite often.How it happens? Will that rotations involve any problems?

the only time they'd become a pain is if they're created after you've bound a mesh to those joints and needed to get back to bindpose. Basically you'd have to go through the rigmarole of disabling all the nodes using modify/evaluate, then return to bindpose then make adjustments then enable it all again. Bit of a toothache. ideally the best setup rig shouldn't move ANY portion of the character from the bindpose.

a workaround for your prob would be:

create your joints ..lets say shoulder, elbow, wrist

create your ik and let the ik shift the joints by tiny values

delete the ik

FREEZE transforms on all three joints (makes sure their LRA's are still aligned)

re-create the ik again... your joint rotations shouldn't have moved at all

then parent your hand to the wrist as normal
