color of a mask............

To the left of the Mask Name in the Layers window you will see a small square that indicates the color of the mask. Click on it to change to the color you want.

it didnt change the color of the mask, it change the line of the mask only.

The mask is cutting a hole in the video layer like a window and if the background is black, then you are seeing the black background thru the mask hole, which will render out transparent with the right codec settings (millions of colors +). Put a Blue Solid (color of choice) below the video layer and the mask hole will turn blue, because you'll see the blue layer below.
