View Full Version : CleanCut script 1.4 update

I've made some minor updates to the script, and added a version that's compatible (somewhat) with Max 4. The changes are minor, only some more tweaks to the highlighting and a slightly more efficient method for hit-testing the mesh. Undo is ever so slightly improved, though there are still some issues there.

The Max 4 version won't run from a quadmenu (maybe in 4.2 it will), and has its own set of undo issues, but is functional in every other aspect.

I don't know about fast, I just wanted to make one that worked more like how Maya's does. In my testing, CleanCut can actually get kind of slow on heavy models.

Thanks for the feedback, though:thumbsup:

Thanks very much indeed LF Shade. I can confirm it goes on the quad in 4.2 fine.
I loaded the file into plugins and as Max opened it asked if I wanted to install clean cut and it was just a question of pressing 'yes!'

Two slight things......

1) When you further open up Max it then asks you if you want to uninstall Clean Cut

2) As you can see by the pic Theres a line which constantly shoots to the side of the screen at all times, though other than the visual distraction, it doesn't appear problematic. The cursor hasn't picked up but you can tell by the highlighted edge where it is. Hope that's helpful to you.
(apologies for pic quality ..it's 19% quality to get down to below 20kb)

Thanks again. :)

Don't put the .mzp file into a plugin path. The package only needs to be run once for everything to work. By placing the package in a plugin path, it's as if you're running an installer/uninstaller every time Max starts up;)

That wild line thing might be specific to 4.2. I only tested the Max4 version on 4.0, and encountered no such artifact. I'll have a chance to do some further testing with 4.2 soon, so hopefully I'll get that ugly bug knocked out before too long. If anyone else can confirm this bug on any Max version, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks
RH
