"Blond Girl"

You have 60mn for your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.

NOTE: I am planning to use this art as part of the next Modeling challenge. You may see your concept art as 3d models!

Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<< (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php/?t=145003)
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them).
Good Luck

AAAAAGGHHHHTHPBTHPBP!!!

I see that I've been colouring on grayscales , drawing males, drawing hands as fists and drawing from imagination for far far too long.

Because obviously, I suck at drawing females, colour painting (not colouring, that's different) and drawing from reference (used to be better at that one though).

Pretty annoying, well, I got something to do then.

Here's what I had at 50 minutes. Do mind the nice colour palette clouds.

And here's, attached, the awful shame that I got for another 40 minutes or so, yes, that is the face of a man.

(edit: just noticed a very big flaw, shoulders are too high and hips are too low, making the stomach wayyy too long)

actually, i like the uncolored version more, but since its supposed to be a blond girl, i just quickly put some color on it.

:) Hehe, these girl-topics seem to generate good entries. I guess we need more of these, Roberto.

Hey, she's got golden hair, so it qualifies as Blond Girl, right? xD

50 minutes in Adobe Photoshop Elements, 2.0 with a random Chinese tablet. (PenPower?)

Speedpainting done in about an hour. Reference used. I did this in shaded of black and white (I want to do my speedpaints concentrating only on values):

I'm depressingly bad at faces and people (which is all the more reason to practice), so any crits would be really useful.

50min, used a reference from google, but it didn't turn out much like it ...

Surrealix--Eyes aren't as perfectly symetrical as that. They are usually tilted slightly, with the corner nearest the nose lower than the other end. Usually are a bit thicker on the nose end as well. And lashes are concentrated on the end furthest from the nose--study your own eyes in the mirror to get more precise spacing, because it's hard to explain with words. xD

Surrealix: That looks great. It seems you're very good with values (which is a good thing when rendering faces, gives them life). My advice would be to just keep practicing, and keep on doing value studies (values is what gives paintings a realistic vibe) every day. I also recommend gridding and/or studying Loomis' to get a better feel of how to paint faces. Also, paint with hard edged brushes, not the soft ones (it might be a bit messy at first, but you'll definitely get desired results eventually).

Here's a quick paintover I did, hope you don't mind:

Wow, that's amazing, and very useful to compare the two, thanks.
