CGTalk - Afterburn smoke

i just wonder where are some really pro-tuturorials for afterburn to create realistic clouds and really cool some waves and dust(like seen in movies like armageddon or Fianl Fantasy X FMV´s)

i really need to create that kinda of smoke for the movie i´m making so any help would be thankful.

And also does anybody know where to find good Compositing tuturials on how to merge/blend the some effects into the live footage? i´m using AE5.5, PRemire6,(3dsmax r5with afterburn to make smoke of course) and discreet´s Combustion2

Go to 3dluvr.com. There are some excellent video tutorials by Alan Mckay that include afterburn clouds, and dust. Also he has some some other Afterburn tutorials in the 3ds max tutorial section as well.

Yep, Allan have very nice afterburn tutorials.

About armageddon, perhaps you should ask Brandon Davis ;)

I need to make some newer better tuts, my current ones are kinda old and ugly :)

yep definitely check out slimes, he's made a great afterburn clouds tutorial
