I'm trying to learn the concepts of rigging and I've got the basics covered, but I'm needing some help tweaking everything.
I have modeled a very simple character (a playdough man) that I'm using for rigging practice.
I started of using cstudio, but the mesh screwed up when I animated the model. The shoulders and feet needed alot of tweaking and I was getting nowhere. I tried tweaking the envelopes and tried vertex assignment, but I couldn't get that working right.
So, I followed a bones and IK tutorial and setup the skeleton for my character. It all seems to work quite well. I added the skin modifier and tweaked the vertex assignments.
The problem is that the mesh doesn't seem to deform right when I pose the character in certain positions. I'm wondering if one of you guys can help me out. You can download the max5 file here (http://www.thekiwi.com/sphere/csetup.zip).
Just one another thing. How can I add animations to a bones setup? Is there a way to do it like cstudio?
