Hi, I have a really simple lighting question. I want to create an image with an all white background but with objects still casting shadows down on the "floor."
Example one shows objects on a flat white background:
example 1 (http://www.hibernatus.com/up/example.jpg)
There is obviously no shadow since there is nothing to cast in on to.
Example 2 shows same image with a floor plane added (with a Lambert material):
example 2 (http://www.hibernatus.com/up/example2.jpg)
Now the shadows are being cast onto the floor but the floor is not a flat white.

So what kind of material/settings should I be using to get the image to look like this:

flat white background with shadow?

what software are you using?

If its maya, you can use a "use background" shader for the bg plane.
