ok. so i started the illustration challenge but got busy with work and am running out of time, but i have to make a short for a production class that im taking, so i thought id just move over to the animation and complete the illustration if i have time...so thats that, hoping to finish something...even if i just start, this will modivate me to create something...so i posted this image as a start...the storyboards will follow on the weekend.

hello everyone!! im still relatively new to 3d...so this is going to be a lot of first time stuff...lets see, i dont know how to rig, texture, use zbrush, or particles...and i have to learn it all in what 3 weeks :P......wow! im going to have a challenge on my hands...trying my hardest to produce something...and i am going to kill myself trying to accomplish it all...so goodluck to me!! yea!!

if anyone has any good reference for particles in maya, that would be helpful...i am new to particles but the tiger is made of sand...so i will try and use them?? im thinking that particles might kill my computer if i try to generate the entire tiger useing particles..so it will probably have a sand texture and possibly zbrush might be effective...one of the brushes could help with the texture effect of sand...and then the particles could be placed as a composite is specific areas...like when he is running the particle trails running off slighlty could have a nice look for getting the effect...

Storyboards Wip...the concept is about this sand tiger that is as we see in the end trapped inside an hourglass...

painted this about 2 weeks ago..ive been thinking about this project alot and sketching and planning, just wasnt sure if i wanted to start posting and not finish the whole thing :P but i am going to try...photo referance to follow and then i will move on to the modeling this weekend...

all photos taken by myself and or family members...center image i am in on the left feeding a liger!! that was really cool, i will be referanceing the liger mainly becasue he has a great sandy fur tone that i may apply to my final sand tiger...enjoy!

started the tiger model...not very happy so far lots to do..no way that im finishing on time :D would love feedback though.

ok. so i updated the boards these will be final hopefully. i added a antelope/goat creature...the idea is that the tiger is chasing time..time represented by the antelope with the stopwatch...and he is inside an hourglass...so this chase is eternal, one gaint loop...lots o metaphor wrapped in this concept :D well back to work!!
