Using Blender v2.45,new to this program.
I have built a lopoly man and would like to take quick screen grabs of him from front, back and side.
When i select render it gives me a view from a camera angle with shading and background colour,i just want quick pics of model with edges visible.I also want to save these so i can open in photoshop.
Grateful for any advice.

OK, i have just found an Icon that when i hold cursor over reads(Render this window hold CTRL for anim), this takes a quick render of current scree. This is what i was looking for.
Now can anyone tell me how i can save these as jpg or similar.
Thank you.

f3 or file > save image, same as renders.

also, if you want an image of exactly what you see in the blender window, ctrl-F3 will give you a screen dump of whatever blender subwindow your mouse is in and ctrl-shft-F3 will give you a screen dump of the entire blender window. Both will automatically open a file window to save the image.

and if you want to know where to find it, it's in the "file" menu. it's quite handy, you never need to take screenshots again.

that icon you are talking about renders out an image or animation when you ctrl click on it, and it renders it to the location specified in the output bar (one of the render button panels)
this is usefull if you want to render out an animation to a movie like it appears in the viewport, without all the light/shading etc effects.
