Your right. I jumped to conclusions thinking that the person posting was the artist.

Glad to see it on the FRONT.

wonderful...simply wonderful. Great style and look to this animation. The voices fit perfectly...and who doesn't like a randomly thrown in r2d2?

hehe, I love the character animation:applause: , the texturing was excellent, and I think flying through that space junkyard is great idea..:airguitar

ow and almost forgot, always like the planetary shots :D

Bravo, I loved it. The r2d2 floating in the debris was a crack up. Nice, well, everything.

I love the textures and the designs. The voices and personalities are great too. I just didn't like the actions. It seems like a poorly done version of Wallace and Gromit. There's a subtlety in the cushions and overlapping action that's missing here. Overall, it's still a great piece and if it comes to town I'll definitely see it.

Hasn't anyone noticed the rocket from Tin-Tin? ;) And the spoetnik?
That's a pretty funny and original concept.
The voices are nice too.
Some of the animation looks pretty chaotic at times, but nothing too bad.
Can't wait to see more!

Hey there guys.

lildragon, and Bishoplynx....yes I have worked on the project.
I have animated the boy robot "Rumbo" I was trying to get peoples opinion on the project, whithout trying to selfpromote to much. Im sorry if it offended anyone, but I hope its Ok with you guys.

Im so happy that so many people seems to like our trailer. As this is my first major animation assignment, after have been an student placement at Radarfilm.

If you would like to see more. I have a testanimation that i have made for this project at: http://www.hotdogfilm.com/niles_768t_LAN.mov
It was a test animation of a secondary character.

I made this as my first thing after starting as Student at Radar.
Thanks to all the people at Radar. Its great place to be.....

Best regards Morten

very well done, but it is just me, or can everyone see the difference between the matte painted backgrounds and the characters? It isn't that obvious, but it's noticeable...

but again, apart from that, great teaser:thumbsup:

Kieguy
04-09-2003, 09:52 PM
Really great teaser...congrats, Morten!

It seems to kinda have that Pixar kind of pacing and humor or overall vibe to it, as well as some Wallace and Gromit, especially with the voice accents. ;)

Looking forward to it finished!...will the full movie be released on the internet? How long is it planned to be? (sorry if that's on the website, only glanced at it)...

EDIT: ah...it says 80 mins. (!) Guess that rules out the internet? ;) Are there plans as to where/how it will be released?

Oh yes...and any projected release date?

Hey Joril, and Dre....

We actually kept back some of the snappynes on this piece of animation (you shlould see some of my personel stuff:) )

I think the final feature will be less snappy in its style though, an im sure you all will like it:p

the concept is alot more interesting than pixars "undersea adventure" even if it is a space story, space trash forming a society is something I've never heard of before!!

a NEW IDEA! GASP!! HAHA
wonderful

it doesnt seem to have the incredible jawdropping awe that a pixar film would have though. But we'll see, too early to judge on that respect(at least to judge completely, heh)

I like it. But it realy dosn't have that 'Trailer' feel to it. Make it a little more funny, add a little more Trailer feel and some music, you'd have your self a profetional loooking trailer!

Wow I'm glad to see so much positive feedback, makes me all shiny and happy inside (I'm a coworker of Morten Jensen). We'll be sure to let the rest of the group know of all the nice things said here.

I'm not neccessairly representing my company here, just stating how I see things: I think of the clip as more of a short film of sorts, an introduction to our heroes and a (very) limited subset of their world. A trailer, imo, implies you try to convey the big picture and basic story, and.. uh.. we didn't do that :) So yeah, agreed, as a trailer it's too secretive about the plot of the coming movie. Teaser-trailer perhaps? I prefer short movie though.. sounds classier :)

Oh and no Kieguy, no release date. Nothing official anyway :)

Hah, that trailers excellent. I like the animation but as some one else mentioned, it may be a just little to snappy. The space debris is also good. I noticed tintins rocket(as someone else has also mentioned) and R2-D2 in there as well:)

That animation test is also very good. Its got the same animation style as the trailer. The character is also good, I really like its eyes.

Damit!!! I just recently drew a very similar pic of that same kinda character "Rumbo" (proportions and faces wise) and thought it was soooo cute...so I was gonna model it and animate it, only mine had legs and wasn't going to be a robot. Too slow I guess, I'm sure there have been other models like this but anyways...looks good. :)

Hi

Great to see that so many people like our Teaser, yes its a teaser for a full feature film called "Rumbo". Its an early animation test and show the style of the movie. So the charachters, textures, rendering, background (which is a great 2D paint) is in its early stages.

Its just to show other investors/coproducers what we want out of the project. And a little team (all people are mentioned on our website) made this trailer on a very short schedule.
