Nice work; but are you aiming for realism?
because it's incorrect at some places, but what the *** it's still a work in progress. Succes:wip:

Do you use any reference material (photo's/drawings)?
Willem
04-07-2003, 02:34 PM
yes i use photo refs,
and i know its not oke in some places, thats why i posted it here..
and yes i am going for realism.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Sweet! I really like how this is coming out. :)
I'm currently learning how to model and I'm making a female face too, so this is really interesting to me.
What are you using for render if you don't mind me asking?
Willem
04-07-2003, 03:21 PM
FrizzyCube: I use Vray for render.
I will post a wireframe when the model is finished so you can see how its done..
For now a new update..
just tweeking the vertices..

Looks like a good start, but keep working it. I'd make the chin wider and a more prominent jaw bone. Most women seem to have more width than your model. Also, increase the diameter of the neck too :)

@JasonA these are some good refrences to look at, but for using em as a refrence guide on imageplanes or somehting, they are just crappy, these aren't true profiles, so a bad basis for modelling...
Willem
04-17-2003, 01:27 PM
guess this is pointed at jason?
i have reference pictures so thats not the problem..
but i think there's something strange in her head. but ive looked to long on it so i dont see what..
thanks
Willem
yes this was for Jason :)
Ok her Neck is to thin, the sternomastoid (muscle from the ear to her clavicle)
The overall proportions are ok for a comic head, but if your pointing for realism, try to get a proportion guide for the head, the are a lot of small things that aren't that good
if youre pointing for a comic style, try to get a character for her, thats what i'm currently missing the most, she just looks "ordinary" nothing special, but a nice start!

There is something wrong with the upper Eye lid, it looks like it is half-closed. And work some little more on the nose and mouth. The ears are verry nice:thumbsup: , succes with your model
Willem
04-17-2003, 01:59 PM
neox :thanks, thats something I can work on, and for the proportions, I guess something went wrong wen moving some vertices, i hided the planes with the model on so all that vertice work didn't look like the old model anymore. if you know what i mean..
will keep on working.
edouard thanks fixed that also, update will follow.

There is something wrong with the upper-lip it got a little hole in it. work some more on the lips and you'll have a nice face.:wip:
i think the nose is too tall and too much right ! I see that only with the front view.

Looking better every post,
I would put much more work in on the ears, the size and modeling of them as they are now detract from the facial work.

some jaw corrections
one thing I should change...
it's also a meta. It's not clear what it is. A man or woman. But it has a (strak) sharp look.
 :applause:
it looks good.. but might i suggest that you reduce the forhead a little (maybe the whole top of the head)? it seems to be bluging out a bit much.. making her look a little alien-like

Jaw is way too pointy, dood. Think a bunch of people have mentioned that. Take a shot of it from almost directly below, and see what kind of triangle the chin and jaw make. It should be something like a 60 to 90 degree angle. If it's something sharp enough to stab somebody with, there's your problem.
Willem
04-23-2003, 07:56 AM
Thanks for the replies guys....
but i dont exactly know what you mean with the jaw?
I tried to make it wider as you said but then she doesn't look pretty anymore?
can you give me more specific comments?
thanks.

Nono, don't push it DOWN or IN... the position of the chin is fine. Widen the jaw just behind the chin, and maybe a little at the very back where the corners of it are.
Take a look at this picture... http://www.fineart.sk/anatomy4artist38.jpg
I realize it's an image of a man's head, but female facial structure is only very very subtly different. All it would take to make that jaw feminine is to smooth out the corners on his chin a little to make it rounded-- the jaw can stay just the same.
Hope I'm making sense?

hoi
Maar nogmaals: ziet er zeer goed uit, wanna see more.. more..
:xtreme: :xtreme:
(Ga je het model ook nog verder uitbouwen/animeren?)

Hey Willem!
It's not a bad model at all, but i think the cheekbones are too pointy.. to angled.
If you look at the last untextured picture you posted, you can see that it doesn't look very natural.
Flesh it out a bit, and make the angle/tilt of it a bit less sharp
Willem

started "sort of over",
details of the mouth..
I am going to make all the parts seperate and add them together afterwards.
some suggestions will be helpfull.
thanks willem

The lips look strange.
The jpg explains what I want to say visually.
I have no idea how to do modelling but I just wanted to point out what I think as a woman.
