hi guys,

i have the following problem:

a character is suppose to hold something (a box) in his hand. the entire animation is done. i have a null-object as a child of the hand-bone which i would like to assign via xpresso to the box, so that the box always follows the position and rotation of the null-object.

i'm an absolutely idiot when it comes to xpresso. i've tried everything, but i only get the result that the box is moving in the opposite direction of the null-object.

when i make the box a child of the null-object it gets deformed...

can anybody point me in the right direction? i'm not able to find my mistake.. :(

cheers
cosmic

Hi,
create an Xpresso Tag (It does not reaye matter where). Drag and Drop the Null as well as the box into it. Then connect the Global Matrix Output port of the Null with the Global Matrix Input port of the Box. The Box can be anywhere in the hierarchy, but it is better to seperate it from the bones and Mesh of your character.
The global Matrix will transfer Global position, rotation and scaling from the Null to the Box.
Hope this helps
