nice image! i really like the softness of the light on it, but why are there no shadows?
the matchbox seems to be floating or in the wrong perspective
Thanks
Ya I am not sure why exactly that is as the matchbox is propped up against the wood accurately. If you are using a Mac like me try reducing the levels in PS to .8 and see if that helps any as it has Windows gamma and it maybe lightening the shadows out of existence :)

Actually the problem is a volumetric light that I thought I had turned off before I rendered :annoyed:

nice one stu, good formal style classical image. doesn't need too much intensity to be added to the shadowsm though if you do, maybe help that volumetric light to be a tiny bit more defined so that you get a clear idea of what direction the light is coming from.
excellent image

Nice one Stu! How are things going?
Thanks guys
Per - ya thats the style I was looking for.I absolutely love Paul Cezanes still life works,I used to look at them as a kid and wonder how someone could do such amazing work with just a brush, the incredible lighting and shadows, used to just blow me away :)
Thanks Flingster :)
The volumetric light was an attempt to add a fire light glow from under fireplace shelf which the objects sit on,but its to noisy and bright, then I thought I had turned it off and shelved the idea, but not as it seems :scream:
Randy - Hi good to hear from ya:).......me,ah ya having trouble using 3D now, hence the absence.Really hard to learn new stuff and even retain the older stuff now too,but thats life theres always someone worse off then yourself :)
I am going to nail this image before moving on again.
