View Full Version : Does anybody at Corel answer e-mails?
I've sent two e-mails to Corel via their web-mail interface, and sent a separate e-mail to painterteam@corel.com, and have been met with complete silence. I switched from Windows to Mac last year, and I'm trying to decide between Photoshop CS3 and Painter X - I know that I can "crossgrade" with Adobe, and I'm just trying to find out if I can do the same with Painter, as I have Windows versions of both. I'm leaning towards Painter, but their inability to answer a pre-sales e-mail (not to mention their reliance on newsgroups for support - it's 2007, set up a forum!) is discouraging.
Does anybody know a better way to get in touch with them, or if I can just buy the Mac upgrade and be done with it?

The Painter disk will load either or Windows and Mac. From the same disk. It's cross platform
Tom - thanks, that helps. However, does that mean that, if I buy the download version, it will accept a Windows serial number when installing a Mac upgrade?

See......Now you're making it complicated ;>). To be honest, I haven't a clue. I'd order it though and get the full box with the xtra goodies that come with it. The couple of bucks you save seems hardly worthwhile. There is almost always something a little xtra added in.
Yeah, I was thinking of ordering the boxed version, but the question is still the same - will it accept a Windows serial number for the upgrade when I try to install on a Mac? I'm hoping somebody has done this very thing (somebody MUST have in the last 18 months, with all the new Mac buyers out there, right?) and will speak up, on Corel's behalf, since they don't seem to want to speak up for themselves.
Thanks again for your help, Tom.
Um Use the phone thing. Call tech support.
I'm pretty sure the serial # is the same for either Windows or Mac.
I have not upgraded, I always started with a new version so I'm not sure how that works. You can find your serial in the last page of the welcome screen. Scroll down on the upper left side of the screen

Hi,
You might also want to call Corel Customer Service since you won't have to pay for it and you might have to pay for Tech Support.
Also, if you post your message in the Corel Painter newsgroups, and address it to Imaging Dev (in the Subject line....that's one of the Corel Painter developers), you might get an answer from them.

Good luck!
