Heya guys Im trying to get an animated maya Mesh into Max, basically, I can get a .obj sequence of mesh files (each one frame of the animation) .. out of Deep Exploration

Do any of you guys know of a way to multi import files and bake them all into vertex animation ( on the editable poly/mesh level?)

And / or bake multiple objects already into the max scene ( ie frame by frame animated meshes) into one vertex animated object?

thanx for ya time

Hmmm, there's an old plugin for max3 that would import multiple 3ds files.

But why not use FBX instead of Deep Exploration? No need for 1 file/frame.

Hey man thanx for the reply ... sadly deep exploration and FBX try (and fail) to translate the Bones and skinning information...

Im thinking that mesh information perframe would be at least accuarate ... (although data heavy) and achievable.

Do you know the name of this old plugin ?

Sorry can't find it. Looked all around. It may have been for 3ds max r2. Was developed by Mondo Media waaayyyy back when (I used to work there). Anyhow, any plugin less than r4 will not work in 3ds max r5.

I did find BatchImporter, but not sure if this does it or not. Might be modifiable though.

I'd suggest reading the FBX pdf about what's supported from Maya export, then modifying your animation to work.
