hey Adam I really like them, each one of them has a very particular mood, this would be really good to see a final matte painitng coming out from them , the lighting , mood and composition is really good , great sense of scale, and lovely aereal perspective, I will look forward for any one of this

You have some beautfiul scenes right here! I like them a lot!
Do you think you could post the original pictures?
I especially enjoy the concept of the 3rd one. Nice work.

i love them, specially 3 and 4....you have a good hand at painting ;) i would love to see 3 as a matte...if you don't do it I'll do it :P

Uninova: I started from scratch with #1 and 2. 3 and 4 I added the original pics as the first images.

Suirebit: I like #3 the best so far too. But i think i liked it better as a cool palette, before I added the warm sunlight. what do you think?

I like it with the sun, although it may be a little overpowering in this specific painting.
One more question, did you use a wacom?

I completely agree with you adam. I love shot 3, but did feel that the cooler moodier ocolour pallette was more stunning than when you added the sunlight.
Awesome work all round mate!

depends, as a sketch yes, the warm one < cool, but I think that as a matte it would turn out much better with some low sun highlights, because otherwise it would be just another night/almost night scene...Imagine that cool palette and sudently, on the top of the buildings, windows reflect what's left of the sun in a glorious glare; dramatic :D

Yea I have a wacom at home, but honestly I struggle with it because Im spoiled with a cintiq at work.

I really want one at home now.

Uninova: I'll probably do some more in-depth tutorials once I get my website worked on a bit more. But I learned everything I know from the Dylan Cole DVD's. I highly recomend them. :)

a bit simpler. This was started with a photo I took while stuck in OC traffic.

extended the shot and blocked in what was missing.

blocked in my mountain shapes

and stole the lighting and color palette from another stock photo.

I love your sketches! They are beautiful and it's very interesting to see them come from the original photo. You have great ideas and I like the compositions. I would love to see some finals. Keep up the good work! You are an inspiration!

Thanks Bonnie. :)

I did a sketch of a police state NY city. It started out just wanting to make a time change, from night to early morning, but I had some fun with it.

The original photo was from:

So I was given a nice gift certificate reciently and decided to go get 'Final Cut express' for my laptop. Ive been doing concept art and matte paintings for so long it was time to start doing some compositing and live action work with it.

At the moment all I have is my crappy Canon Elph, which takes a 480x640 resolution video. Which sucks for resolution, but when it comes to paintings and composites its a pretty easy scale to work at.

Ive done a few tests now with compositing stuff together, kinda fun that im getting the sky to move and such fairly easy. This is my 3rd attempt, and took me maybe 3 hours total.
