View Full Version : Matchomoving nulls to a 3D model?

Call me a bonehead, but after reading The Invisible Art of Camera Tracking I still can't use Realviz Matchmover Pro demo at all.

If I have lots of parallax in the scene shouldn't the nulls be quite exact in 3D space when camera moved quite a bit during the shoot? I'm trying to figure out if I could model the scene using the nulls only, but nulls on a wall plane seem to have z-depth difference of several dozens of meters, when they should be on same plane.

Also camera solution has several insanely big jumps even if the scene has dozens or so green tracks.

Video is PAL interlaced. And sometimes when I calculate it I can't see the nulls at all in the solution even though the 2D tracking seemed to go well.

Any hints?

p.s. I can post the video if needed.

There are lots of things that can cause trouble in a matchmove.
Posting the video for review would make it a lot easier to help you trouble-shoot the issue.

Knowing which software and approach (auto track? manual tracking?) would also help.

Again, the program is Realviz Matchmover Pro and using automatic tracking.
