Hi,

I'm working now in a new animation reel and I want to do a series of small acting pieces with the "very typical sound from a movie" type of audio.

Let's see what you think about it, and please welcome any comments that could help me to improve and learn more about acting! :)

hey dogfighter,
This is an awesome acting test... i simply love the gesture when he says "girl power"...... its cracks me up whenever i see it.

Can you share about how you planned this animation & did you act it out and also the main things you have put in to get the attitude in this character.

It would be really gr8 to hear it from you.

Thanx a lot
Chintan :)

Thanks for your coments Chintan,

The first dificult thing to do was to find a reason for the character to be that upset. Someone confusing him with a girl because he use girl products... so I thought to give him a long punk hair to be proud of. Even a punk would need to take care of his hair...

The hardest thing I tried to achieve was to keep the character still in the holds, but keeping that big energy that the speech is carrying.
Something to learn is how to move (or not to move) every part of the body in order to lead the attencion to the eyes (in this case). Any unnecesary movement will break that link, and the spectator won't be interested any more in whatever the character is talking about...

Awesome. His face when he pronounces 'girl' is just .. brilliant. The look on his face when he grabs the thing and walks away is also fantastic.

Do more please :)

(yea my first post, lole .. )

That's really nice mate. Great stuff!

I think from the point the audio finishes, it's near perfect. His series of expressions that take you to the end are excellent.

Personally, I think the voice in the audio sounds a bit more intense than his current expression conveys. Maybe his eyes could glare a bit more, or he could stoop a little bit and give the off-screen guy a side-ways peer on the "I don't buy.." part. The only other thing is that his defiant walk-away could be even more defiant. He could maybe lean back a bit more, nose-in-the-air type thing. It would just really tickle after that look of embarrased despair!

Anyway, love your timings and the whole idea is great. Any updates would be great to see :)

Very good animation, and above all, very encomiable how you're nurturing that enormous talent of yours. Keep on going, mate, keep it up...:buttrock:

My little comments, if I may, would go for the lipsync at some points and timing in gesturing by the end of the sketch, there's an evident rythm when posing right before he picks up the item, or so it seems to me.

Great stuff nevertheless!!

Frelp I would remember your comments when I go back to it. I'll try to push it further. Thanks.

metamesh Heyyyy tuuu! Thanks for your kind words my friend. I will keep you posted with more stuff soon

harachte Heyy mannn! Thanks for your supporting words mate.:) I appreciate them!
I will have a look to the lip-sync. There are some other people that have told me about it. But about the rhythm when posing right before he picks up the item.... I'm not sure if I follow you... can you try to explain it a bit more, please?!:D

I've decided now that I would leave the animation for two or three weeks, start another one and then come back to it with a more fresh eyes. Hopefully I will clearly see what can be improved.
I thought it was finished, but I would go back to it to push the quality a bit more if I can.

Thanks for all the critics.
