Hi

I am somewhat new to Fusion, using 5.02 at the moment.

I am trying to import cameras from XSI either via dotXSI or FBX format. Both methods seem to have drawbacks. FBX doesn't seem to import the camera at all (via the file menu). DotXSI imports the animation ok, but some settings seem to be astray -vertical for horizontal, angle of view nearly but not quite the same etc.

What are people's experiences and what are the best way to get a camera in accurately?

I've had some luck with fbx, with only the fov screwed up so the fix was easy. They've updated the fbx importer for fusion 5.2.

Just export a .ma file. That seems to be the least broken.

It's possible to convert axis and more on fbx import (http://www.vfxpedia.com/index.php?title=Eyeon:Manual/Appendices/Importing/Import_FBX_Files).

And I would strongly recomend the free 5.1 upgrade at least.

5.1 is a free update and its loads more stable then 5.02 you should upgrade.
