Title: Sun Worshipper
Name: Chris Baker
Country: United Kingdom
Software: Illustrator, Photoshop

This illustration was originally sketched from life in pencil along with a few other similar poses, and the style simplified.
The image was then cleaned up with linear paths in Illustrator, then imported into Photoshop, where it was layer blended and edited with simple block color in Multiply and Overlay an Soft Light modes.
Ultimately, the image was then used as part a sunglasses manufacturers promotional material, along with a few other images created in a similar vein.

Man, I love this!
I resized the canvas and made a wallpaper out of it. Thank you for that!
Maybe you could do that to, with yor own design...

As I still own the original rapid pencil sketches for this design (of which there are many!), I am keen to include a brief tutorial in relation to this piece :
It will mainly centre around simplicity of form, composition and colour balance (if anyone's interested).
And also in part because I wanted these semi-vector based illustrations to impart a 'warm' & 'non-CG' feel to them when finished - these oulines are far way from simply single tone/color paths with fills ;)

Thank you for your interest guys!

Thanks for your comments & appreciation, Michal & SirNeo - very kind of you :)

Have some work to finalise over the next couple of weeks - then I'll be finishing-up a mini-tutorial, and posting it here ;)

cheers

Chris

Holy Crap! How did I miss this one?
There is a lovely sence of harmony and proportion running though this piece.
Jeeze mate,... stop frigging about with those cartoon characters and get some of these ladies done in zbrush already! I know you to be an amorous young cad so put some of that energy in these sorts of sculpts.

Shite, you could have been rich already:banghead:

and had fun doing it hi hi

Cheerio Chris, your friendly protagonist
