I am currently working on a short animation based on the movie Alien. This is one of my render tests and I wanted to get some feedback. So, all comments are welcome and wanted! This is my first post so I hope I will get some good replies.

I will post some higher res renders as soon as I get a host.

Add some color to it and set something in the foreground that is more visible and detailed. Looking good!

The foggy atmosphere and the back lighting are good, so I think you're capturing the mood well.

How exact are you trying to get with repect to the movie derelict? I think the tunnel needs to be much more curved, and have more of the giger'esque design elements. I saw a book down at Borders the other day on Giger and his artwork. You should invest in it for more of his design style. It would help you alot with this cavern.

good start:D

I wasn't trying to match the derelict in aliens. I just sort of loosely based the idea off of it. I started this for a special effects class. I wanted to have drifting fog and the original concept didn't quite match my requirements so I had to design a new concept. I will have water dripping from the ceiling and I will have to dirty up the scene. So I have a lot of work to do still. :D

Hmm the posted images don't seem to be displaying... But the one attached looks very nice, just add a bit of color to it and it will look creeppy enough to transport anyone who loved that movie right back into their favorite scenes.
