I have a character that has been skinned. Is it possible to copy a joint smooth skin's value to another joint?

You could hold all other joints than the two joints you want to swap between. Then paint 100% on the new joint on the vetexs of the old joint.

Hey, thanks for replying.
Then paint 100% on the new joint on the vetexs of the old joint.
It's not a new joint. It's a joint that has already been binded to the mesh. They're not all 100% skin valued. I know I can do it manually e.g go to Component Editor and type the skin value for each vertices. But That would take ages...... and I'm talking about hundreds or possibly over a thousand of vertices.
Is there any other way?

If you hold all other joints than the two joints you need to swap between, you can paint the one joint you want to have weights on with 100% (like stealing them from the other joint) and it will even out. It would work....

If you ask me.. you could use comet's transfer weights tool... to transfer skin weights from one joint to another as long as they are connected to the same skin cluster...

Cheers!

its 10 times easier to do with paint weights if you dont have these scripts...
