Not sure on the exact hours spent on it since. About ten maybe.

Not sure on thie figures in the foreground Are they acolytes, or mesmerized sacrificial maids? I did think briefly about adding chains, but I always regret the decision to do this as chains are a massively tedious element to paint (they never look good unless there's a lot of them). I could have done them in Max, but you can always kind of tell, no matter how much smeary brush work you add.

I welcome your thoughts.

the girl who is being bitten, her face seems kinda of big in relation.
the girl on the bottom left her left shoulder looks huge and her arm a bit thin.
there seems to be some problem with the monsters proportions.but hes a moster so i wont comment.but everything is looking really good i like the wall textures and the monsters face and his flesh stuck to the wall or whatever it is ,keep it up.waiting for more:thumbsup:

Thanks for the fresh pair of eyes! I had neglected to flip it so far, which pretty much reveals you to be correct on all points. I'll have another look at my proportions before I proceed.

So after some feedback (more please), I've re-jigged some of the proportions, and removed the terrible figure sketch from the foreground, replaced her with something a little more promising. Very busy at the moment so updates will happen slowly. Feedback welcome.

It's been AGES since I bothered to update this one. Just a little cleaning up and some lighting speculation. Am I way off base with this one? Should I bother finishing? Be brutal, I cannot be offended.

The original concept, of the thing ripping the girl's throat out is sufficiently creepy, and the rendering is great!

That said, the addition of the other two women looks contrived and somewhat stupid. I'm sorry, but conceptually, it doesn't fly, although the last update is a bit smoother. If this is some sort of sacrifice type thing, why is only one babe "clothed" (if that is what you can call that gauzy little covering), and where is the clothing of the other two?

Since you have the thing "webbed" into it's hole, what's it gonna do if no one brings it food?
THINK about how the situation you are illustrating exists. Why are these women there? Why don't they run away? Why are they so placid?

Why does it look like like an abandoned subway or sewer line? Sacrifices are usually somewhat ornate affairs, even when someone gets disembowled or fed to lions or some such. It is done before crowds for the mass effect. Generally, they don't just toss 3 nubile, muscular and toned young women into some cave and they are on their own, queued up to be eaten...

Which also brings up the reaction of the two women in the foreground. Again, I'm sorry, but unless you see this sort of thing on a very regular basis, seeing someone you know (or don't know) having their throat ripped out by some thing like that, is NOT going to be something you just "la-de-da" about, as you demurly stand there and await your turn. I say ditch the superfluous babes, and go back to the crowd of creepythings. Then it becomes a ritual, where they snatch the hot babe and feed her to their whatever it is for whatever auspicious reason.

I had to really look hard to understand the weird keyhole opening, it looked like a sewer line, until I noticed the narrow slit opening on the bottom. This then brings up the weird leg positioning of the creature. It sure has awful long and developed legs. LEG, I should say. This then makes the positioning of it get wonky as hell. That leg looks relaxed, as if it were stretched out as the thing is sitting on something, but the pose of it at the girl's throat looks like it is farther forward, and in a more crouching position. That leg just looks totally out of place.

You need to think out your concept a bit more. It looks like you are making adjustments "on the fly" as you go along, without a reason behind them. Every element of a good composition has a reason behind it based upon form and function. You have good inital shock value, but no real rhyme or reason behind any of it that can be visually understood.

You are correct, the addition of the second and third babes is indeed a contrivance. I genuinely did stick them in there purely for the cheesecake, thanks for pulling me up on that one.

The idea was that the thing has awoken after a long sleep (hence the webby goo) and needs a feed. The females are supposed to be transfixed due to some kind of glamour upon them, but as you point out, this is in no way clear to the viewer.

T'was a whimsy, nothing more. Ill-conceived I think, perhaps I'll put it to bed.
