I'd say animation mentor seems to be the best one out there. But its also much up to each artist and how dedicaded they are, no matter what, its your work and abilities to growth that matters. Otherwise, VFS seems to have some good courses as well.

For myself i had a few weeks animation with a guy called Alain Maindron, and he is really tallented and fun to work with so i learned a lot in short time with a good teacher. Other than that , hard work pays off, or it did for me as i got an animation job directly after school.

To be honest, the only reason why you really should study is:

1. To gain skills and become a better animator
2. To be able to get VISA in another country easier.

Other than that, you really dont wanna do schoolar things. The real deal theese days are actually working experience, the companies want people with experience, not education. So only apply to schools if you need to learn or need motivation to work, otherwise just keep on working and practising on your spare time (which of course AM will help you with). Thats my biggest advice i can give , talking from my own surroundings experiences (classmates that has problems breaking into the industry due to lack of experience, no one ever mentioned the grades at all).

Finally, keep your work, gain experience, register to AM, do both at the same time, then go to US, with shitload of work experience and a degree from AM + the skill you gain there.

Sounds great man! :) I want to go to AM as well, but I don't have the money.. to bad. Well, better keep on practising on the job and home I suppose. Anyhow! Keep things up man, saw your work cycle in the wip forums, it's nice, i might even pop in with a few crits later on! :deal:

I would highly reccomend Animation Mentor.

I am currently enrolled on thier course and just about to start class 2. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the best course to learn character animation. I know I may obviously be a bit bias but when I made my decision to join I researched thoroughly and looked at many exmaples of work from all animation schools. The great thing about AM is that they take the time and effort to get you back to basic initially and build a strong base in the 12 priniciples you are then ready to move up and put everything you learn into more complicated scenes. The support is amazing as well as the community. We have our own forum, chat rooms Q&A sessions and guest speakers. Each week you given an assignment and a Q&A sessions with your mentor. The following week you will recieve a personal crit on your work which enables you to see where you are going wrong and right. Having Mentors gthat are industry professionals helps a great deal as they don;t sugar coat anything and really gives you the skills and attitude to working not only professionally but working in the larger Film studios.

I hear alot of people say that AM is very expensive but to be honest it is worth every penny. If you also compare this to some of the best Universities and colleges you can see that it is in fact a bargin as some of hese places charge £20 -£30K a semester :S ! aghhh I know some of these places have guest speakers from time tot time to, but to have some 50 + mentors working in the big studios on hand is a gold mine. Plus you get eh chance to interact with everyone.

Well If I havnlt sold it to you by now, then I am obviously doing a bad job heh. all I can say is if you sign up to AM you won;t be dissapointed!

Oh yeah in reagrds to your work to. Well I work full time and still manage to complete assi8gnments on time as well as dedicating enough time to animate. It just a case of time management.

Thanks
