View Full Version : Rigging Question on CS4 vrs Bones.

Well Im gunna rig this guy only for tests before I texture it up. Yeah uh my question is this.. what would be the best way rigging this character? CS4? which I'm very good at riggin with CS4. But Bones on the other hand is just another story. but if bones might be the awnser I might have learn it. whats your input on this part of a time of rig in High Polys?

rigging for high poly?... I wonder may CS is slow for that, I recommend bones+skin (instead of biped+physique)

Of maybe biped + skin instead. It works very well.
I tried to setup Ik Joe rig and found that this is much slower than biped.
But for hipoly I'd recommend biped + physique.

I think CS and skin modifier works pretty well. The character I've been working on today is fairly high poly, but not as much as yours. If you're wanting to get realisitc movement to match the model, you'll probably be adding a few bones anyway. Then again, you can add extra bones in CS4, no problem. Sorry, not much help.

EDIT: I just saw you said you were rigging him for test before skinning. I'd proabably just go with CS if it's preliminary tests, since you already know it.
