Hi all.

Wondering if C4D supports using an Illustrator .ai or .eps vector file as a material map?

Thanks.

Only indirectly, you can import them as a spline and use the spline shader.
Rendertimes for the spline shader are rather high though.

hello. I really dont know if I am gonna be off topic but I dont know what u need the splines for but maybe you could just export the files as tga's and map it as an alpha on planes.

Heck alot easier if its an extremely dense vector file. Hope this helps some how and not too off topic :)

Thanks all.

I'm using the vector splines for logo extrusions, and will use .tgas as texture maps. I wanted to know if the texture map reads vector info. Essentially,.. if i zoom in close on the logo using the .tga map, i don't want any tearing on the edges. What size of .tga map would you recommend saving as? I normally use something in the range of 1200x1200 px.

It depends on your rendering resolution. If you are not able to see single pixels of the map in the final rendering the resolution of the map should be useable for the purpose.
