big thanks!! i wonder why they haven't integrate that in maya 2008 yet, it's been in other apps for years.A chance michael comet was kind enough to let us have it open source.
A chance you're here to recompile it too ;)

thanks

This might not be to related to the topic, but incase Michael Comet reads here, a big thanks for the free "script pack" on the website, i really found the save skinweight useful (use it several times a week).

Any chance some one could compile the plugin for Mac? Just had to switch environments recently and not having PoseDeformer for maya2008 is killing me.

Thanks in advance,
Grim

Hi all, first of all thanks to all who made this script available, it sounds like it will solve a lot of my current issuses. however I cant seam to get the script loaded.

I have followed the install guide but when i go to load and auto load the script in mayas plugin prefrences I get this error message.

// Error: The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

Im using maya 2008 x64 extension 2, I have installed the appropreate x64 .mll files, but maybe being on extension is causeing the issue.

Please exuse my ignerance but I could really use some help.

Cheers SinHouse.

Can someone tell me if the other comet's scripts are available to maya 2008 / 2008 x64?

Thanks!

Arrgh!
Sorry Buexe. Had it working all nicely, but not sure what build of 2008 i was on when it was working. Now currently on 2008 SP1 (OSX) and its throwing me errors telling me this:
// Error: does not match the current architecture (poseDeformer)

now i'm sad... any idea what's going on? What have i done wrong between this week and 2 weeks ago? (oh, different computer too... though that shouldn't make a difference, should it?)

EDIT: one of the other guys here reckons that its cos i'm sitting on a power pc mac now, instead of an intel. Gonna try a different machine just to check.

EDIT TWO: haHA! Crisis over. Tis cos i'm on an older non-intel mac. Must be about the only one in the studio...

Absolutely! Do you know if its implemented in 2009? Havent read anything about rigging related features in the upcoming version of Maya. Maybe you know a bit more about it!?

Buexe

Do you know if its implemented in 2009? I read a feature list on the area and there was no posedfomer mentioned, so I`d say no, it is not implemented yet.

I've compiled it for maya 2009 win64. Its here (http://www.djx.com.au/mel/poseDeformer.rar). I have not tested it myself (dont have 2009 yet), but my friend who gave me the lib files says it works well.

If someone needs win32, and can send me the "lib" and "include" folders, then I'll be happy give that a shot too.

hey thank you very much.:applause:

I'd personally be interested in the 32-bits and the OSX versions, but I haven't installed them yet. It is one condition for the upgrade to me.
So if anyone reading could send you those versions, it'd be nice of them.
thanx in advance.

And I got a question as well : Isn't it possible to use a kind of poseDeformer stuff with the CG Muscle plugin ? (I didn't have a look at it at all)
As it seems weird to me that Autodesk integrated one Comet plugin and not the other one... :hmm: I'm pretty sure I'm missing something somewhere. So, any clue would be nice... :p

djx

Ok, the 2009 win32 version has been added to this rar (http://www.djx.com.au/mel/poseDeformer.rar).

You will need to install .net framework 3.5 for it to work.

I'm going to start a thread for 2009 poseDeformer, so post comments there (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=88&t=702981) instead of here.

Can someone help with a linux version for Maya 2008? It will be really helpful. I've been trying to compile it myself. But no luck!!

I'm getting errors while loading the plugin. I've posted a thread about the same here.

Thanks
