Really great idea so far. Love the camera angle, the small details like the compass/altometer and the decal on the rocket. And the stylized smoke is great too - hope you'll have similarly-styled counds in the sky.

The only thing I could think to add is that when I've seen penguins in documentaries or National Geographic or such, there are always TONS of them, not jsut a few. What about a lot more rockets and contrails in the sky, even if they're small, subtle, and off in the distance?

Anyhow, great work so far!

thanks for the replays.. and I think it could be greate with a lot of small small pingvins flying far away as you talked about michael... thanks again talk to you again soon

The story is that the pingvins are emmigrating from the southpole, by shouting themselves of on rockets..
away towards the moon..

away towards the moon..

I have corrected my contrastīs and put some more rimlight on the character.

My tools for this illustration is some watercolor brushes I have bought from portlandstudios.com

And I have used one image of a old american pin up girl placed on the side of the rocket. (downloaded from google image search)

best to your all and good luck Niklas

very cool indeed! .. i think you can still add some more penguins as mike suggested ... create some depth by adding more mountains fading into the night ... also .. lots n lots of stars! :p ;) ..you still have some time ;) make it more eye popping! :p

cheers my friend! wishing you the very best of luck!

New correction:
more pingvins and a little more red in the picture and more contrast
