Title: Pinespike Village
Name: Ognian Bonev
Country: Bulgaria
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop

Hi all,

Pinespike Village is a small, sheltered place ( not even a real village, rather than just few isolated farmer huts and a little pub ;)) , situated deep in the great Pinespike Wood, far away from any trading routes.

Modeled & rendered in 3ds max with some additional touches in Photoshop.

Hi Ognian

beautiful scenery, you really caught fairy tale mood, nice palette of colors, and light is warm. I
"donīt like" only strong volume light, I think, that is a bit strong and disturbing.

But the mood is really fantastic, I wish to play a strategy games with similar graphics like in your scene.

Could you send a wire please? some objects looks low poly and do you have high resolution render and could you show render without volume light?

Thanks, and keep it up

Thank you all for the comments.

Stanislav, yes – the objects are all low poly , (up to 1700 verts. per building , 300-700 per tree ,-for example).

And here are some wireframes :

Good work, but I think it lacks some depth. The colors and saturation of the far objects have the same intensity of the near plane.

With a so thick air, the far plane should have less saturation and definition.

I really like the way how you captured the fairy tale quality. Very nice.
