I have heard frequently in modeling tuts that it is best to model using all quads and stay away from 3 and 5 sided faces, if you are planing to animate it.
why is this I dont get it.
the only reason that I can thing of to have all quads in your model is that it will look nicer in wire.

Sometimes it is good to put a triangle in a place with high deformation. Sometimes it is bad.
I can't see how a 5 sides face would do any good though. Maybe im wrong.

The only thing i've witnessed with 5 and 3's being a pain is when you texture the low poly mesh then smooth it.
The texture stretches in those places.


Thats my 2 cents on tri's/fives.
