"Kavukluk"
it is a work of mine that aims to show people a little about The Ottoman Empire's aproach to art.
name of this wooden carved furniture is "Kavukluk". it was made in early 19 th century with edirnekari style. On the furniture there is also a sign of "Sultan II mahmud Han"
the signiture says: "sultan Mahmut "the son of Abdulhamid" is victorious forever"
the golden ewer was made in the same period and it has the same signature on it.
3d technical explanation,
poly modeled. tried to model as close as possible to the original object. textures are all procedural, 4 layers for each object (wood,undercoat,gold.dirt).
no displacement used pure poly modeling.
Mental ray, GI render, beauty pass with final gather passes also added occ, depth, alpha, matte, shadow passes for each object. composited in photosop. depth, star glow and grain by digital fusion
total working time: the project has been started at the end of 2006. i finished modeling then stopped. last week i decided to finish it. total working time is about 2 weeks.
