Nice, I like the wear patterning. I think that the reflections are a little strong for what appears to be worn wood.

very nice, see if you can fix the AA problems on the strings. but it looks really good. if the wood is a free texture plese tell us where. thanks

The 1, 2, 3 are renderable splines, the 4, 5, 6 are loft from a circle along a path.
The 4, 5 and 6 they have an Gradient Ramp bumpMapping
if the wood is a free texture plese tell us where
the wooden texture is a composition of some woods in the TotalTextures CD1 (www.3dtotal.com) and some from my own colection (from my camera)

You have to look twice to know that it's not a photo! But I too am a bit puzzled about the shadows / reflections that are falling downwards from the mechanics. If they are reflections, they are far to bright, if they are shadows, I think they should come from only one direction.
I never heard of a Trastocaster?!

they are shadows from two light sources, I will make a new render with area lights to avoid that confusion

First off ,lets just say WOW.
Very nice detailing :)
A little suggestion though , raise your AA values so that your small strings dont look so aliased.

very nice material work there! Othere than the dual shadow/reflection thing I can't see anything that would need tweaking.

:applause: first off, its looking really good !
just a few things - the wood seems a little too red(?) and the wear on the words looks wierd to me, maybe have lines going along the grain of the wood....i think that would look betta
but yer im just being picky(like my last post :D )
Excelent Juan, reading the threads I,m agree with one that say that the wood reflection it,s too strong, try to decrease a bit, I think the render will be better.
Overall, awesome render.
Felicidades!

those reflections are strong for even a brand new guitar with a natural head

I think it's better now...
Really great render...
But I must ask why not using a renderable splines for the 4 5 and 6 strings too? You can then adjast their settings to fit...:)

Nice fix, looks a lot better now!! My bad for thinking they were reflections :D
The changes you made to the case and the addition of ground helped to. The pick needs a little work though but i'm shure you know that already.

Looks great man. Just thinkin' the fret board should have a little wear on it too.

But I must ask why not using a renderable splines for the 4 5 and 6 strings too?
because I needed a bump-map tile along the string (gradient ramp)
brrrr!!! I hate my english :annoyed:

For me as an guitar player its impressive!!! Looks a little bit like a foto of my guitar *g*. But i think also the fretboard should look a little bit used and the first mark on the 3rd fret needs more reflection.

I'm not sure about this one but can't you put a map on a spline?
I'll go check

OK... splines are mapable but its a lot easier to UV loft objects...
So you made the right choice after all:)
