Title: Luftwaffe "1946": Henschel high altitude bomber
Name: Ronnie Olsthoorn
Country: United Kingdom
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop

Of the many innovative aircraft designs of WW2, the Henschel Hs P 122 was perhaps one of the most secret. It was a culmination of Henschel's research in high altitude flight and guided weapons. In fact, this was the first aircraft designed from the outset to deliver "smart" weapons, much like today's F-117 Stealth Fighter.

This image was made for Marek Rys' new book German Air Projects, volume 3 (http://mmpbooks.biz/books/r5110/r5110.htm) about bombers.

Zorrino, FMMirel and calin, thanks for taking the time to reply.

The glow effect was rendered out using a Mental Ray then tweaked and composited into the render which was done with default scanline.

Great job as always. Ive seen this on your site and elsewhere with other views, this is a terrific model and texturing job by itself and the rendered image is topnotch. You really brought to life a project that literally never got much farther than some sketches.
