View Full Version : Mr. Plug (WIP)
teakae 09-15-2007, 03:46 PM Mr. Plug the household plunger.
I created this character previously in 3dsmax, but have since lost all the files. So I have decided to recreate it, but this time in Blender.
This is currently a WIP. It took me 3hrs to get it to this stage. I will finish the modelling soon and then texture it. Then I will rig it up, which I might need some help with.
My previous attempt can be found here:

Just out of sheer curiosity, why haven't you model it again in 3d Max?
And, how come it took 3 hours to get at this stage (no offense of course :) )
In your opinion, what are the points that really stand out in Blender?
I don't think that rigging should pose a problem for this model. But if you really want it easy, try the upcoming automatic bone weighting feature.

Blender offers all that I need, and I really love the feel of it now. I think overall Blender is a great package that has many features. The sculpt and retopo tools are pretty cool.
The modelling of this object minus the eyes took 15 minutes or so, then cutting the eyes in takes me a while (still trying to work out where to do what???), and between settling my 3 month old boy.....simple light setup... time flies http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon7.gif

Lol, I know how 'hard' it is with a little kid. Mine is 4 years old and it still aint easy on the free-and-private-time department. I trying to keep my organic modeling tutorial/ discussion rolling, but is it is hard to organize that since the material is extensive and there is a lot to talk about. In any case, I like to see this guy animated.
Cheers
