Hi everybody !

After a labor-intensive year, our 3d animated short movie, directed at Supinfocom, is born :

CumuloNimbus (http://www.cumulonimbus-lefilm.com/)

The directors are Nicolas Hu, Hubert Seynave and myself, Paul Belot.
I hope you will enjoy it !

Well done guys! I love the story and mini stories even though I barely speak french. great how the style really matches the storyconcept! Animation is not as solid but erverything else really compensates for that.
Could you tell a bit more about the production process... How much time was spend on story, layout, animation etc, I'm also wondering if you drew the backgrounds on real paper and then scanned it or if you did the whole thing in photoshop or maybe artrage. Thnx and also thnx for putting it online!

All though I do not speak French I enjoyed the clips. Very interesting concept and I thought the giraffe idea was very clever. Too bad there were no english subtitles. I really would have liked to have known more about what was going on.

Good Job

Thank you very much for the comments : ) !

Indeed, Droidoz, we used ArtRage for all the backgrounds, it has been very useful and funny to play with :) The higher CG course in Supinfocom lasts 2 years : during the first one, we learn the softs, and in the same time we write the story and make a 2d storyboard.
We make the 3d animatic during the first months of the 2nd year, and the real production lasts about 7 ou 6 months. We were 3 in the group, so we split the tasks : modeling the characters, the machine, the props, texturing them, layout, animation, and at last post-production. We were very busy during this year : p

Kid-mesh, sorry for the lack of subtitles. More or less, Remy and Lucie are always arguing to play with the machine :)

Hey the animation was brilliant! It was difficult to watch them in your flash player, but the quality was great. Wasn't surprised to see they were done by Supinfocom students....the stuff coming out of your school is always insane.

It's an honnor to hear such compliments : ) Now there's quicktime movies instead of flash.
