Hi All,
The image is part of a project I have recently finished.
Moreover the image came straight from 3Ds Max9 using Mental Ray, no post work was needed.
Due to the tight deadline (...the usual...), we (...GMJ design ltd...) were forced to come up with a quick way to render a 5000x5000 pixels within 2hours.
The first step was to minimize the number of lights in the scene.
For that we have created a number high energy reflectance map primitives in the scene to be used as lights; by simply applying instanced real photos of lights as bitmaps to diffuse and additional color/self illumin components. Inside the bitmaps parameters under the output tab, we have increased the RGB Level values to the point where most areas in the scene were well lit. Finally we had used one mental ray daylight system for direct shadows and highlights.
I hope you like the result.
Any comments would be welcome.
Regards,
Jamie
